Stream Deck

Install the plugin, put actions on keys and dials, what the tiles show.

Installation

The TalkPatch plugin ships as design.starks.talkpatch.streamDeckPlugin. Double-click it to install it into the Stream Deck app (version 7.4 or newer). A TalkPatch category then shows up in the action list.

The plugin only talks to the app on the same Mac: it reads ~/Library/Application Support/TalkPatch/control.json and asks the running app over the control API. With TalkPatch closed, every tile reads “App not running” and switches over the moment the app is back.

Actions

Action Key Dial (Stream Deck +)
Start / pause tap = start/pause; blue with time and progress while it runs. Hold = stop or beginning (configurable)
Stop tap = stop; hold = to the beginning
Status big time, chapter, time left, progress; tap = start/pause
Chapter forward or back (direction configurable), shows the target chapter one click = one chapter; press = start/pause
Line one line forward/back, hold repeats clicks = lines; press = start/pause
Voice tracking on/off, shows the model
Prompter text on/off hides text, reading line and status
Ring light on/off, shows the size turn = size, press = on/off
Recording tap and hold assignable (start/stop, pause), mode selectable; red with timer, orange when paused
Script loads a fixed script (selected in the Inspector)
Speed, font size, text width higher/lower, hold repeats turn = change, press = default value

Top row: start/pause, stop, chapter back, chapter forward, status. Second row: line back, line forward, voice tracking, prompter text, ring light. Third row: recording and scripts. On the Stream Deck +, the four dials with speed, font size, text width and chapter.

Behavior

Only what is running is solid, exactly as in the app: prompter text blue, recording red, pause orange. Tiles redraw only when something changes. Tap fires immediately, hold after 550 ms, and line, speed, font and width repeat while you keep holding.
