The first version with licensing. Same scope as 0.1.0, plus:

  • License: Settings → License. Request a trial key with an email address, activate a license key, release a device. One license covers two Macs. The app checks the license offline and contacts the server only at long intervals.
  • 7-day trial: everything unlocked. Setting the system clock back ends the trial.
  • Trial and license: 7 days with everything unlocked and a countdown in the app; after that TalkPatch is locked until you activate a license. Your scripts and settings stay.

The build TalkPatch is used with every day. No public download yet — this page describes what this version does.

  • Voice tracking: Nemotron (multilingual, streaming in three steps), Parakeet TDT v3/v2, Parakeet EOU, Cohere Transcribe (beta) and Apple SpeechAnalyzer all run entirely on the Mac. Models download the first time you switch them on. Chapter headings and stage directions stay out of recognition.
  • Stage: prompter text on the camera or on a background color, reading line as a line, status chip with chapter, time and draggable progress. Prompter text on/off hides text, reading line, chip and dimming together.
  • Ring light: a real white ring (round or square), size, width, brightness; movable, scalable and lockable on the stage. The text inverts only over the ring, the camera image stays untouched.
  • Scripts: library with chapters (## Chapter), stage directions (> Note), WYSIWYG editor with real font weights, text styles for headings and notes. Chapter headings can be hidden in the prompter text, size 40 to 200%.
  • Recording: video (H.264, HEVC, ProRes Proxy/LT/422/HQ/4444) or audio only (WAV/MP3), pause and resume, blinking red frame, orange when paused.
  • Studio bar: bottom, top, left or right; on the left and right a narrow icon column that moves next to the panels without shifting the text.
  • Keys and remote: every action assignable with tap and hold, held keys repeat speed, lines and jumps; line forward/back, pause recording, prompter text on/off, ring light on/off. Tested with the Desview Bluetooth remote.
  • Stream Deck: plugin with 13 actions for keys and dials (MK.2 and +), tiles show the real state. Control API GET /v1/state and POST /v1/commands, local to the Mac.
  • Agents: the inbox ~/Library/Application Support/TalkPatch/Inbox/ takes Markdown files in as a script, and a new version replaces the text under the same title without a restart.
  • Notch bar: a compact slice of text under the notch, with controls on hover.
